Terms of Service

Last updated: 2025-01-01

These terms govern your use of EvalRank. By using the service you agree to them. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you accept on its behalf.

1. The service and what our scores are

EvalRank publishes evidence-ranked scores and comparisons. Every score and label is a measured opinion grounded in disclosed, dated, reproducible evidence: not a statement of absolute fact, and not professional advice. You are responsible for your own decisions; we make no guarantee a ranking fits your use case.

2. Accounts

Sign-in is passwordless (GitHub, Google, or magic-link). You are responsible for activity under your account and API keys, and for keeping your email secure. You may delete your account at any time.

3. Acceptable use

  • Do not use exports, the API, or scraping to build, train, or seed a competing ranking index. This restriction binds bulk and competitive use, never the per-listing "Powered by EvalRank" badge.
  • Do not evade rate limits, attempt to access held-out evaluation data, or try to game scores.
  • Do not submit unlawful, infringing, or knowingly false content, and do not impersonate a vendor you do not represent.

4. Your submissions

You keep ownership of content you submit and grant us a license to host and display it. You warrant you have the rights to submit it. Reviews are published as your own attributed opinion; we host but do not adopt them.

5. Data-out and attribution

Individual public scores are offered under CC-BY-4.0 with the free "Powered by EvalRank" attribution badge. Bulk and API use is additionally subject to the competing-index restriction in section 3.

6. Vendor listings

Claiming a listing requires ownership verification and confers no ranking privilege. Claimed and unclaimed entities run the same held-out pipeline. Vendors have an inline right of reply to any negative signal.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted, our aggregate liability is limited, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Precise warranty, cap, and indemnity language is set by counsel.

8. Termination and changes

You may stop using the service at any time; we may suspend accounts that violate these terms. We will post material changes here.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Governing jurisdiction is set with counsel at launch.
